Julian Baring – SVP North America

As an experienced director in both mature and high growth businesses, Julian has been part of the founding team in a variety of different ventures. With responsibility for functions including finance, marketing, operations, business development and human resources, Julian has extensive experience working in both the US and across Europe.

Most recently Julian was a partner at Portobello Ventures. Prior to that Julian worked as part of founding team building and launching Platefood Ltd, an enterprise software search technology venture that was acquired by FAST in 2006. Julian also was one of the first employees at Vizzavi a pan-European multi-access portal joint-venture between Vodafone and Vivendi. He started his career working at Saatchi & Saatchi and then BBDO in New York and has an MBA from Oxford University.

Oliver Weiss – General Manager Europe

Oliver is a highly credentialled digital media professional with extensive senior management experience in roles encompassing Client Service, Product Development and Business Development.

Prior to joining Facilitate Digital in 2009 Oliver held various senior management and consulting positions, most recently with Microsoft where he managed the integration of Atlas into the Microsoft network. Prior to this he worked for Atlas as a Senior Consultant, where he established and managed the Atlas Publisher and Agency ad server business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Oliver has also held Senior Consultant roles for DoubleClick EMEA, where his responsibilities included Client Service Management for large clients, and Project Management of Global Product Development.

Oliver has also held senior technical roles in large digital agencies, such as Pilot, where he underwrote sustained growth of the business by founding and developing the operations business unit, and Pixelpark, where he worked on pioneering projects such as developing the European markets’ first flash layer and a centralized agency workflow solution.

Oliver has also run his own consultancy business, working with some of Europe’s largest media agencies and publishers.

Stewart Emerson – Managing Director United Kingdom

London born Stewart Emerson is has over 20 years international experience, driving growth across small and large corporations.

Over the last 10 years Stewart has focused on driving sales, marketing and operational excellence across internet-based businesses. As the Global Sales and Marketing Director of a FTSE AIM listed internet services vendor he was responsible for a new commercial strategy, significantly expanding their international customer footprint. Before that he led the online business for Deutsche Telekom’s T-Mobile division across Europe growing the channel by over 300%.

Stewart’s early career was spent in advertising before undertaking a number of senior marketing and business development roles in telecommunications involving consulting and software at Philips Electronics, Nortel Networks, Telewest and Vodafone.

Damien Thomson – Managing Director Asia Pacific

Damien has extensive commercial experience across the areas of finance, marketing and as a senior manager in the music and digital publishing industries in both Australia and the UK.

Damien joined Facilitate Digital after working with of the UK’s largest online publishers – ANDigital, where he worked on world renowned news brands such as the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday and Evening Standard where he was responsible for the development of commercial strategy, the adoption of an ROI focused sales model and fostering strategic business relationships with partners such as Google, Moneysupermarket and Teletext.

Damien has also spent time in the New Zealand digital market before moving back to Australia, giving him a broad understanding of the regional dynamics at play within the industry.

Damien holds a Bachelor of Business, double major International Business & Accounting from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Jonathan Axworthy – General Manager China

Jonathan Axeworthy

Jonathan has over 10 years digital marketing experience and has worked for the last 3 ½ years as Digital Director for PHD, running the Australian office, before moving across to Shanghai at the beginning of 2010 (spending most of his time on the newly won Unilever business).

Before joining PHD Australia, Jonathan ran his own digital consultancy business in the UK, working with the likes of Initiative media and with brands such as Burger King & Kodak. Over his career Jonathan has worked agency side (PHD and i-level), client side (British Telecom) and creative agency side (lbi), so brings a wealth of knowledge to the team at Facilitate.

Toni Knowles – Country Manager New Zealand

Toni Knowles is a highly respected professional, having spent more than 20 years in the New Zealand advertising industry.

With a proven track record in online advertising, and wide experience in media selling and account management, Toni’s key specialty is coupling service with technology.

Throughout her career, Toni has focused on fostering strategic relationships with New Zealand’s agencies and publishers, having held senior roles with a number of NZ advertising sales operations.

Prior to joining Facilitate Digital, Toni spent three years as NZ Country Manager of the Australasian ad sales network, 3d interactive, where she was responsible for establishing and growing the NZ business.
